Start with a Consultation

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Getting Started

It starts with a free consultation. Reach out through our contact page, tell us a little about what’s bringing you in, and we’ll set up a time to talk.

We’ll talk about what’s been feeling hardest lately, what you’re hoping for from therapy, and any practical questions about scheduling or insurance.

We match based on what you’re working through, scheduling needs, session format, and the type of therapeutic support you're looking for.

The first session is a conversation, not an interrogation. You don’t need to prepare anything or tell your entire story at once.

Absolutely. Figuring that out together is part of the consultation process.

It depends on what you're working through and what you're hoping to gain from therapy. Some clients come for a season, while others stay longer for deeper work.

THE LOGISTICS

Scheduling

Sessions are 45 to 55 minutes, depending on the format and your therapist's approach.

Most clients start weekly, which gives the work enough consistency to build momentum. Frequency can shift over time.

Often, yes. Many clients mix formats depending on their week. In-person availability depends on your therapist's schedule at our Brooklyn, NY and Kendall Park, NJ offices.

THE MONEY QUESTIONS

Insurance & Billing

Yes. We’re in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, and Blue Cross Blue Shield managed care plans. We’ll confirm your coverage details before you start.

Many plans include out-of-network benefits that reimburse a portion of each session. We can provide the documentation you need to submit for reimbursement.

Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask about outpatient mental health coverage, your deductible, copay, coinsurance, and reimbursement rates.

THERAPY FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE

Online Therapy

Yes. We offer virtual therapy for clients across New York and New Jersey.

For most concerns, yes. For some clients, being in a familiar space actually deepens the work rather than diluting it.

Anyone physically located in New York or New Jersey at the time of their session.

A private space, reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera. We'll send a secure video link before your appointment.

Yes. Sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and follow the same confidentiality standards as in-person therapy.

Many insurance plans cover telehealth sessions the same way they cover in-person therapy. We'll verify your benefits before you begin.
